As per the manufacturer, this printer was also marketed as a balanced option that can meet the demand of beginners and 3D printing enthusiastic. So, does the TRONXY X5SA PRO 3D Printer pack enough punch to compete with other large volume 3D printers on the market? • The printing bed is removable. So, you don’t have to worry about separating the print from the bed anymore. Just bend the mat, and the print will come off.
• TRONXY X5SA PRO can work with multiple filaments. So, no matter how complex your design is, you get the perfect result from the printer.
• Affordability is certainly one feature that’ll surely attract a lot of people. A printer with this large volume is a steal for the price tag.

Tronxy’s X5SA was a widely successful and appreciated 3D print among the 3D printing community. So, a few years after its launch, Tronxy decided to launch the pro variant with some upgrades. The major upgrade onboard was the addition of the titan extruder.

This extruder has a tight filament path, so you get the liberty of working with various filaments. Also, Tronxy has done a great job addressing the issue with the acrylic mount. This time, all the thermoplastic parts are replaced with metallic parts.

At first, I was a little optimistic about how the printing quality will be considering the lower price tag than its competitor. Then I saw some real shots of printed pieces, but the confusion still existed. But when I get my hands on this monster, I have to say this printer can deliver exceptional printing results. You don’t have to print parts separately and attach them together, thanks to the enormous printing volume of this 3D printer.

Build quality and look

Because of the large print volume, it was pretty much expected that the Printer would have a massive skeleton. Though it’s not an issue, it does create some incontinence along with the operation. Apart from that, the build quality is solid this time, thanks to replacing acrylic parts with metallic ones. Most of the frame is also made out of aluminum. So, in terms of build quality, I have to say Tronxy has put their absolute best.

Features

Tronxy X5SA PRO is full of useful features that set it apart from the rest of its competitors. For example, the addition of auto bed leveling, Titan extruder, filament runout sensor, and removable printing bed makes up for an efficient and convenient 3D printing experience. You don’t have to go through the hassle of adjusting the bed; the printer will adjust itself. Then the Titan extruder gives you the liberty to work with any filament you want. The runout sensor will signal you instead of staying idle as the filament runs out. Lastly, the removal bed conveniently makes it easy to snap the printer piece off the bed.

Assembly

Though Tronxy X5SA is a semi-assembled 3D printer, the rest of the assembly isn’t=t very easy. Even with my experience with 3D printers, it took a whole day to assemble the machine and get it started fully. Upon receiving the package, you’ll see lots of components inside. If you are a beginner, putting together, all these parts can prove to be a massive challenge for you. There is only a basic manual included in the box to help you out, which won’t be beneficial if you don’t have prior experience.

Tronxy has put a lot of attention to making the user experience convenient, and that’s clear from the control option and software of Tronxy S5SA Pro. This 3D printer has a bright and colorful 3.5-inch touch screen display to control the printing and use different features. With the touch of your fingers, you can control everything.

As for the sluicing software, CURA is the way to go as per the Tronxy website. As far as a free 3D slicer goes, I don’t think an alternative to CURA is available on the market. You can also try Tronxy’s own slicing software if you want.

Value for money

Last but not least, the value for money this 3D printer is offering is unmatched. Industrial FDM 3D inters don’t come cheap. When I came across this Tronxy X5SA PRO, I was surprised to see the price tag. Typically, a 3D printer close to the Tronxy X5SA Pro’s specification is well worth thousands of bucks. But to my surprise, Tronxy has delivered even at such a low price. On top of that, Tronxy had added high-end features like auto bed leveling and Titan extruder, making it an insanely good value-for-money printer in today’s market.

Final Verdict

I have to say the insane price tag got to my head, and I was trying to figure out how Tronxy X5SA performs in real life. After brief usage for a few days, I have to say this is an excellent option for people looking for a large-scale FDM printer at a low price.

When the Tronxy X5SA launched, it fell short due to different lacking. But it would be a mistake if you try to judge the PRO version with the previous experience. The addition of different high-end modern features really made Tronxy X5SA Pro worthy of your investment. You should get this 3D printer with your eyes closed if you can handle the assembly.
